New Enterprise Allowance helps business start-up's in Mid Worcestershire

Nigel Huddleston MP has welcomed new figures showing that 70 people in Mid Worcestershire have been supported to start their own business thanks to the Government’s New Enterprise Allowance scheme since 2011 but has called on more people to come forward and take advantage of it.

Boost for Worcester apprenticeships as Compco Apprentice Academy launched

Worcester's MP, Robin Walker has today opened a new training academy at Worcester Fire Safety business Compco. The local business, which has been taking on three or four apprentices each year for the last few years has expanded its intake to around twelve and delivered a dedicated new apprentice academy at its Malvern Road site in Worcester.

Walker welcomes funding for swift expansion of Worcester’s A&E

Robin Walker, MP for Worcester has welcomed the announcement that the Government has approved approximately £4 million of extra funding for an expansion to the Emergency Department at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and the provision of an additional discharge suite. This comes on the back of a further announcement of help for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust from the Emergency Care Improvement Programme.

Mark Pawsey MP visited Britvic’s Rugby factory this week and met with a number of their new apprentices. Britvic Soft Drinks are responsible for manufacturing iconic brands here in Rugby, such as the Tango and Pepsi Cola ranges of soft drinks.
