Mark Pawsey MP, a member of a House and Commons Select Committee scrutinising matters dealt with by the Department for Communities and Local Government has been carrying out an inquiry into local government procurement. The report identifies a number of ways to save the taxpayer money, improve the efficiency of local government, and support local businesses.
Nuneaton’s MP Marcus Jones has welcomed the publication of planning guidance which has been shared with local authorities throughout the country. The guidance is related to Councils who are currently drawing up a Local Plan, which shapes where development should and shouldn’t go.

Chris Kelly, Member of Parliament for Dudley South, met with disabled artists from across the country in the House of Commons last Wednesday for a special one off pop-up exhibition of celebrated disability arts project, ‘Postcards From The Edges’. The exhibition was organised to mark the passing of the crucial Care Bill through Parliament and also featured the launch of a book pulling together the most powerful postcards sent to United Response throughout 2013.
Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, joined around 60 delegates and twenty MPs to discuss the inequality of schools per pupil funding. The conference was called by the F40 campaign and was held, in Parliament, on the 6th February.
