Stoke-on-Trent City Councillor Jack Brereton has been selected to stand in the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election on 23 February.
Elected as the Councillor for Baddeley Green, Milton and Norton ward of the city since 2011, Jack is the Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Transport and Heritage lives locally with his wife Laura and is also a school governor at Hillside Primary School.
Commenting on his selection, Jack said: "This by-election has come at a crucial time for our country. It is an opportunity for the people of Stoke to send a message that the referendum result must be respected, and to back the Prime Minister's clear plan to make a success of Brexit.
"A vote for Labour will let them think they can ignore and forget what you voted for in the EU Referendum.
"Over the next few weeks I will be setting out my plan for Stoke-on-Trent Central, and how the Conservatives have a clear plan to deliver what local people voted for and make a success of Brexit."
