Shaun Bailey is the Conservative Member of Parliament for West Bromwich West, serving communities of Great Bridge, Oldbury, Princes End, Tipton, Tividale and Wednesbury.
He won West Bromwich West for the Conservatives at the 2019 general election, a seat that previously had always voted for Labour MPs. The former MP Adrian Bailey, who had held the seat since 2000, stood down in 2019 leaving a majority of 4,460, which Bailey was able to overturn in this Brexit-backing seat, winning with a majority of 3,799.
Shaun has campaigned extensively for more funding for our High Streets in Wednesbury, Oldbury, and Tipton; ensuring that the 3 towns that make up West Bromwich West receive their fair share of funding and investment.
Shaun is also keen to support small business in Wednesbury, Oldbury, and Tipton and ensuring that these businesses can survive and create meaningful jobs for everyone in our area, so that we can keep our communities together.
Determined to keep our communities safe Shaun has led campaigns in support of Tipton and other police stations which have been subjected to the police station closure programme being pushed by the Labour Police Crime Commissioner. Crime is one of Shaun's top priorities and he is absolutely determined to ensure that this issue is tackled head on.
The NHS is also one of Shaun’s key priorities. Shaun has campaigned to ensure that the new Midlands Metropolitan Hospital is completed on time, as well as ensuring that services at other hospitals are maintained.
During Shaun’s time as an MP Sandwell has seen record investment, whether that’s £67.5million for the Towns Fund, £80,000 secured by Shaun to tackle the flooding issues in Tipton, £50,000 to deal with congestion issues on the A461, £3million for Wednesbury Town Centre as part of the Heritage Action Zone Funding or £22.5 million which Shaun is fighting to bring in for Tipton Town Centre as part of the Levelling Up Fund. All of this made possible by the Prime Minister’s commitment to levelling up communities, which have been decimated by Labour’s inaction for nearly 50 years.
