Member of Parliament for Stoke on Trent North
  • MPs

Jonathan Gullis was elected as the Conservative Member fo Parliament for Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke at the  General Election in December 2019, with a majority of 6,286

Previously,  a secondary school teacher in Birmingham. Jonathan was Head of Year and responsible for the achievement, behaviour and safety of over 250 students. He oversaw whole school attendance for Years 7 to 11 and was the school trade union representative for the NASUWT. Jonathan is married to Amy who he met in 2009.

His campaign is focused on ensuring that a world class education is provided for every child, whatever their background. On housing, he wants the focus to be on building the homes across Stoke-on-Trent North and Kidsgrove that communities need. He wants to build upon the success of the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone by backing business, both small and large, as they continue to grow and create good jobs for local people. And on healthcare, he will champion our local NHS services particularly in the area of quality mental health provision.

“I have been and will continue to going out and meet with residents and community groups at every opportunity. The energy of local groups like Our Burslem, who secured the return of a weekly market, shows the very best of community spirit. It is factors like this that are one of many reasons I wanted to represent Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke.

“The city’s industrial heritage is crucial to what makes us unique. One of my main priorities is to develop a long-term plan to secure the future of Chatterley Whitfield and protect our remaining bottle ovens. Our history is something many deserve to learn about and we must ensure the hard work of the generations before isn’t forgotten.

“Only the Conservatives can build a country that works for everyone with a stronger, fairer economy and a more caring society. And it is only the Conservatives in Stoke-on-Trent that have a plan to deliver for a city that is on the up.

“My stated ambition is to make sure the people of this area see their hard work recognised and rewarded so they can lead fulfilling, happy lives,” he added.
